Bio

Rosie Skerik Urban, 87, of West died Friday, February 7, at a West nursing home. She was born November 7, 1915 in Taylor, daughter of John and Mary Tisall Skerik, and attended schools in the Ross area. She was a farmer and member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption and KJZT Society #11 of West. She married John R. Urban November 17, 1943 in West. She was preceded in death by two brothers, John Skerik and Frank Skerik; and one sister, Helen Soukup. Survivors include: her husband; one son and daughter-in-law, Joe and Linda Urban of West; one sister, Mary Dirba of Sealy; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Rosary was recited at 2 p.m. Sunday, February 9, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 2:15 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary’s Church with Rev.
