Bio

Rita Svacek, age 85, of West, passed away late Saturday afternoon, November 17, 2018 at her residence. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 am Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with Rev. Timothy Vavarek as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rita was born November 27, 1932 in Tours, the daughter of Carl and Emilie (Rauschhuber) Glatter. She was a graduate of St. Mary's School and attended West High School. On January 6, 1948 she was united in marriage to Harry Lee Svacek Sr. in West. Harry preceded her in death on March 23, 1987. Rita was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West. She was a member of the SPJST Lodge #6 in Cottonwood and served as a judge for the Westfest Kolache Baking Contest for many years. She also worked for Lorch Manufacturing. Rita enjoyed flower gardening, crocheting, cooking, baking, praying the Rosary, collecting Prayer Cards and keeping a clean house. She loved spending time with family and drinking a Dr. Pepper. Rita is preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Alois Glatter; and a grandson, Adam Svacek. Survivors include her children, Luritha Nemec and husband Louis of West, Harriet Dujka and husband Milan of Ross, Linda Pliscott and husband Rick of West, Harry Lee Svacek Jr. and wife Karen of West, Susan Greener and husband Randy of Ft. Worth, and Charlene Heemels and husband Henk of West; brothers, Raymond Glatter and wife Dorothy and Johnny Glatter and wife Sandra; a sister, Olivia Janek; 21 grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren with one on the way; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are her grandsons, Milan Dujka III, Carl Pliscott III, Michael Pliscott, David Pliscott, Joshua Svacek, Nicholas Svacek, Bud Greener, Cody Greener and Gary Greener. Honorary pallbearers are her granddaughters, Sharon Vanek, Karen Rogers, Shana Nemec, Leslie Nemec, Megan Jakubik, Leanne Espinoza, Alisha Pliscott, Kristen Peters, Dianna Haygood, Tiffany Castillo and Gina Roberts.
