In memoriam of Rose Marie Sulak, 12/29/1934 - 03/20/2017 Rose (Petter) Sulak, age 82, of West, passed away early Monday morning, March 20, 2017 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, with visitation to follow until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 23, 2017 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Msgr. Henry Petter as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Rose was born December 29, 1934 near Leroy, the daughter of Albin and Louise (Gerich) Petter. She attended St. Mary's School and was a 1953 graduate of West High School. On January 4, 1954 she was united in marriage to Dennis J. Sulak in West. Dennis preceded her in death on December 29, 2012. Rose worked for the Texas Highway Department from 1969 to 1979 and then spent the next 17 years working for Texas Utilities in West until she retired in 1997. She was a lifelong and faithful member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, where she was active in the Assumption Choir, served as an Extraordinary Minister and brought Communion to the homebound. Rose was also a member of the KJZT Society #11, Catholic Daughters of America Court #829 and SPJST Lodge #66. She enjoyed gardening, baking and traveling. She loved to dance with her sweetheart, Dennis and spend time with family and friends. Rose was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Ronald J. Sulak; and brothers, John Petter and Bernard Petter. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary's School Endowment Fund, St. Mary's Catholic Church Building Fund or the charity of your choice.
