Lillie Kahanek Stacha, age 96 of Hubbard, formerly of Clifton, died Sunday afternoon, June 9, 2002 in a Mexia Hospital. Rosary was recited at 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church in West; followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:15 a.m. with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Stacha was born November 21, 1905 at Penelope. She married Louis Stacha in 1925. He preceded her in death on July 4, 1966. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Edward and Leon Stacha, four sisters, Mary Sijansky, Molli Stasney, Agnes Konvicka, Hattie Bakluda, and a brother, Louis Kahanek. Mrs. Stacha and her husband Louis resided in the Coon Creek area in Bosque County, east of Clifton for a number of years. She was a member of the Holy Angel Catholic Church in Clifton. She is survived by a daughter, Margaret Stacha Harrington of Plano; a sister, Julia Zatopek of Mt. Calm; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Active Pallbearers were her grandsons, Eddie Stacha, Chris Stacha, Ricky Stacha, Lance Stacha, Gary Stacha, Joe Harrington and John Harrington. The family received friends at the Kotch Funeral Home from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Tuesday. Kotch Funeral Home of West was in charge of arrangements.
