Bio

Stacy M. Sebik, age 93, of Waco, passed away early Thursday afternoon, August 27, 2015 at Providence Hospice Place in Waco. A rosary will be recited 6:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel in West, followed by visitation until 8:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption, with Rev. Vincent Romuald as celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery. Stacy was born July 18, 1922 in West, the daughter of Joe and Julie (Veselka) Retchek. She attended the old Alligator Creek School near West. On September 21, 1940, she was united in marriage to Joseph J. Sebik in Hillsboro. Joseph preceded her in death on February 4, 1977. Stacy was homemaker and also worked in the cafeteria for St. Mary's School in Waco and at Huck & Buck Manufacturing in Waco. Stacy was a very faithful member of St. Louis Catholic Church. She was also a member of SPJST Lodge #54, the KJZT Society #11 and the RVOS Lodge. She enjoyed cooking, baking and socializing. She especially loved spending time with her granddaughter. Stacy is also preceded in death by her parents and sisters, Christine and Julia Retchek. Survivors include a son, Joe J. Sebik Jr. and wife Kim of Waco; a granddaughter, Haley Jo Sebik; a special friend, Della Holick; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
