Frank J. Prnka, age 81 of Rt. 1, West, passed away January 2, 1994, in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West with full military rites. Mr. Prnka was born Sept. 5, 1912 in West and had lived in the West area all of his life. He was a retired farmer and retired from the West Post Office, where he was a Mail Carrier and a Clerk. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West where he had been an usher for a number of years. He was a veteran having served in the Army. Mr. Prnka was a life time member of V.F.W. Post #4819 of West and a life time member of the American Legion, Post #478. He is survived by three brothers, Joe V. Prnka of Leroy, Charlie Prnka of Burlington and George Prnka of Rt. 1, West; four sisters, Mrs. Victor (Victoria) Holecek of Austin, Genevieve Krueger of Malone, Christine Bradley of Houston and Mrs. Robert (Angeline) Birkes of Waco and several nieces and nephews.
