Mrs. Sophia Navratil Succumbs to Illness Mrs. Sophia Navratil, a resident of West for the past few years, died at her home on West Spruce Street at 11:25 a.m. Thursday, December 22. Death came as a result of a pneumonia attack. Funeral services were held from the Church of the Assumption at 9:30 a.m. Friday, December 23rd, Rev. E.J. Polcak in charge. Interment was at the Catholic Cemetery. Pall bearers were Louis Hutyra, Louis Kramr, I.F. Opella, D. Kramr, Joe L. Popp and Frank Lichnovsky. Survivors are a son, Robert, and a daughter, Luddie, of West; a father, Martin Slovacek of Calvert; four sisters, Mrs. Chas. Hutyra of Jourdantown, Mrs. Frank Jacobie of Robstown, Mrs. John Moore of Calvert and Mrs. Bertha Curik of Taylor; one brother, John Slovacek of Calvert. Deceased was born at Ellinger, Fayette County, on June 5, 1890. She was preceded in death by her husband, who died several years ago.
