War Veteran, Former West Man, Dies Stephen F. Mudryk, former West resident and well known here, died at the farm of Joe Liska, Ellis County farmer, near Boyce late Friday. He was 41 years of age. The friends and relatives of Mudryk here were shocked at his death, he having visited here only a few hours prior to his death. Mudryk was reared here. He enlisted in the United States Army during the World War, and, suffering from the effects of wounds, spent several years in a veterans hospital upon his return. Relatives stated that the deceased had been in ill health for several years. He had been employed by Liska for three months, working on the latter's farm in Ellis county. The body was taken to Waxahachie and was later brought to West, where funeral services were held on Saturday. Survivors are two sisters, Mrs. Walter Barak and Mrs. Joe Marek of West; two brothers, one living in Idaho and another in Washington.
