Mrs. Joe (Lillian) Mashek, age 76, of 1019 January, a longtime area resident, died Sunday at a local nursing home. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 18, at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, the Rev. Don Chatham as celebrant. Burial was at St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday at Kotch Funeral Home Hillcrest Chapel. Mrs. Mashek was born Oct. 24, 1906, in Weimar. She lived in Waco, West and Penelope most of her life. She was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead, the KJZT Society No. 11 in West and Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 in West. She was married to Joe F. Mashek in 1926. He died in 1962. Survivors include a sister, Sister Gabriela Cernosek of the Incarnate Word Convent in Houston. Pallbearers were Robert Stanislav, Joe Mashek, J.L.
