Mrs. Frank Marek, 40, Dies; Rites Held Tuesday Mrs. Frank W. (Willie Mae) Marek, 40, of Route 2, West, died Saturday afternoon in a West hospital. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Monday in Kotch Chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated at 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West with Rev. George Doskocil as celebrant. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mrs. Marek was born near West and lived in the West area all her life. She graduated from West High School in 1950. She married Frank W. Marek on April 26, 1954 at Abbott. She had been employed as a clerk at the Ben Franklin store in West for the past 20 years. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption and SPJST Lodge No. 6, Cottonwood. Survivors include her husband; two sons, Michael Marek and Gary Marek, both of Route 2, West; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerry Sumbera of Route 2, West; one brother, Joe Sumbera of Route 2, West; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were: Jerome Pavelka, Willie Pavelka, Leon Marek, Eugene Marek, Joe E. Marek and E.J. Seith. The West News, West, Texas, Volume 82, No. 38, Edition 1, Friday, January 5, 1973, page 1.
