Mrs. Joe (Mary Ann) Kostecka, age 88 of West, passed away Saturday evening, November 21, 1992 in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West, by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Kostecka was born November 1, 1904 in Penelope and had lived in the Penelope-West area most of her life. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in West, the Altar Society and she was a homemaker. She married Joe Kostecka in West on November 24, 1924. He preceded her in death September 24, 1956. Survivors include one son, John J. Kostecka; and one daughter, Mrs. Albin (Mary Lee) Kocian, both of West; two sisters, Albina Kostecka of Ennis and Frances Slovak of Dallas; seven grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Richard Kocian, George Kocian, John Kostecka, Jr., Bobby Kostecka, Michael Kostecka and James Kostecka. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
