Bio

Doris Kolar, age 74, of West, passed away early Monday morning, September 27, 1993 at her residence. Rosary was recited at 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Rev. Ed Karasek. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with the Rev. Ed Karasek as Celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery near West. Mrs. Kolar was born May 21, 1919 in German Town, Pennsylvania, the daughter of William and Marion Goodfellow. She married Ben Kolar on May 7, 1941 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He preceded her in death on December 24, 1984. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829 and the West Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She was a volunteer at West Community Hospital and at West Rest Haven. She was also a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. She is also preceded in death by a daughter, Carole Rainey, who died July 11, 1993 in California. She is survived by one daughter, Doreene Lent of Long Beach, California; one sister, Irene Moore of San Diego, California; two grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, and other relatives. Pallbearers were Tom Rainey, Brian Rainey, Jim Lent, Ben Vavra, Ted Kocian and Calvin Kolar. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
