George P. Kocian, age 70, of Penelope passed away Monday evening, January 28, 1991 at his residence. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West, with Rev. Alfred LaFleur, officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Kocian was born November 5, 1920 in West, and had lived in the Penelope area most of his life. He was a diesel mechanic for the Texas Highway Department fo 30 years. He was a veteran of WWII serving in the Army, a member of K.J.T. Society #50 of Penelope. He was a Catholic. He is survived by three sons, Ervin Kocian of Midlothian, Danny Kocian of Mansfield and David Kocian of Elm Mott; two daughters, Diane Snokhous of West and Eileen Janek of Mertens; his mother, Mattie Kocian of Penelope; one brother, Wesley Kocian of Penelope; ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Patrick Prikryl, Darreell Kocian, Andy Prikryl, Jimmie Osborn, Albert Dudik and Brian Bruk.
