Requiem Mass Held Mon. For Louis J. Kazda Louis J. (Butch) Kazda, 77, of West, was pronounced dead on arrival at West Community Hospital Saturday morning, Nov. 18, after he apparently suffered a heart attack. Requiem mass was celebrated Monday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Mary's Church of the Assumption with Rev. Earl Hedberg as celebrant. Rosary was recited Sunday at 5:45 p.m. at the Aderhold Funeral Chapel. Burial was in the St. Mary's Cemetery. Mr. Kazda was born in Czechoslovakia. He came to the United States in 1914 at the age of 19. He owned a cafe and meat market in Abbott for several years and later worked as a meat processor and butcher for Pavlas' Market and for Nemecek Bros. He married Stacy Patak in November, 1944. Mrs. Kazda died Sept. 25 of this year. He was a member of St. Mary's Church of the Assumption and SPJST Lodge 66 in Waco. Survivors are two sons, Louis W. Kazda of Abbott, and Walter Kazda of Bellvue, Wash.; two stepsons, Clement Karlik of Kermit, and Wilford Karlik of Fort Worth; 11 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were members of SPJST Lodge No. 66, Waco. They were Louis Macha, George Trefny, Frank Parma, James Pavlicek, Emil Hanus and Ray Moore.
