Edward William Karlik, age 63, of West, passed away Thursday evening, November 1, at his residence. Rosary was recited 8 p.m. Friday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel, West. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church, West, with Rev. Ed Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, West. Mr. Karlik was born October 12, 1927 in West and had lived in the area all of his life. He worked for Kozelski Motors in West for 18 years as a mechanic and paint and body man. He worked for Sykora Family Ford in West and retired from there. Mr. Karlik also worked at Kata Point and Economic Laboratories. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of West and a WWII veteran. He married Rosalie Hykel October 11, 1949 in West. Survivors include his wife; six sons, Jerry, Patrick, Kenneth, Richard and Steven Karlik, all of West and Dennis Karlik of Whitney; one daughter, Cynthia Reeves of Fort Worth; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers were Edward Hykel, Jr., Michael Matus, Anton Gerik, Ernest Kolar, Louis Kolar and Gerald Barak, Jr. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
