Mrs. Kallus, 93, Former Resident, Dies In Taylor Mrs. Julia Kallus, 93, died in a Taylor hospital Sunday, October 26. Funeral Services were held at the Church of Assumption in West at 10 a.m. Tuesday, October 28. Rt. Rev. I.J. Valenta officiated, and burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Kallus was born in Frenstat, Czechoslovakia April 26, 1865. She came to Texas in 1881 and settled in Ellinger. She spent most of her life in West, but has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Hanzelka, in Taylor for the past 8 years. she was married to Alois Kallus in 1883 and he died in 1892. Mrs. Kallus was a charter member of the KJZT in West. Survivors are one son, Louis Kallus of Ross; one daughter, Mrs. Anna Hanzelka of Taylor; 6 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
