Bio

Ernest H. Cinek, age 89 of West, passed away Wednesday morning, May 9, 2001 in West Rest Haven. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Friday in Kotch Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. Ed Karasek. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption in West, with the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery in West. Mr. Cinek was born February 17, 1912 in McLennan County. He married Frances Hornak, August 16, 1933, in West. They lived in Menlow from 1933 until 1937 and in Vaughn from 1937 until 1958, at which time they moved to West. She preceded him in death on August 7, 1987. Mr. Cinek was a charter member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Abbott and had been a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption since 1958. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council No. 2305 of West and K.J.T. Society No. 31. He was a retired farmer, rancher and merchant. Mr. Cinek is survived by two sons, Harry Cinek of West and Charles Cinek of Temple; one daughter, Frances Beane and her husband Paul of Lubbock; five granddaughters, Laura Bonjonia of Katy, Sara Cinek of Humble, Stacy Fagan of West, Beth Sullivan of Sierra Vista, Arizona and Paula Teegardin of Lubbock; one great-grandson; five great-granddaughters and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers were Albert John Hornak, Eugene Dolezal, Travis Fagan, Amos Cocek, Steve Bonjonia and Bernard Machovsky. Kotch Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
