Mrs. Chada, 86, Buried Tuesday Funeral services for Mrs. Johanna Chada, 86, who died in a Kerrville Hospital last Thursday night, July 29, were conducted by the Rev. E.J. Polcak at Assumption Church Monday morning. Rosary was recited at Aderhold Chapel Sunday at 8 p.m. Burial was in St. Mary's Cemetery. Mrs. Chada, born Johanna Beseda in Moravia on August 15, 1867, came to the United States with her parents in 1881, and lived in West for the past 72 years. She was married to Frank Chada in October 1884. Mr. Chada preceded his wife in death on February 24, 1920. He had been active in Assumption parish activities, serving on committees that planned construction of West's two Catholic Church buildings. Survivors include four sons, Ed J. Chada of Los Angeles, Rudolph Chada of LaSalle, Joe Chada of Milwaukee, Leo Chada of West; seven daughters, Mrs. Mary Welle and Mrs. Anna Freeland, both of San Antonio, Mrs. Millie Sykora, Mrs. Bertha Prasifka, and Mrs. Hattie Pareya, all of West, Mrs. Albina Thomas of Dallas, Mrs. Janie Gallman of Waco; a sister, Mrs. Rosie Jares of San Antonio; 28 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Aaron Gallman, Henry Sykora, Reynold Pareya, Bernard Prasifka, William Pareya and Bernard Chada.
