Bio

Raymond F. Barton, Jr., age 37, of Route 1, West, passed away late Thursday evening, April 19, 1990 at Hillcrest Baptist Medical Center in Waco. Mr. Barton was born March 8, 1953 in Waco, the son of Raymond and Henrietta Barton, Sr. He lived in West all his life and graduated from West High School in 1971. He married Sandy Machac on June 28, 1975 in Penelope. He and Sandy owned and operated R.F. Barton, Jr. Plumbing in West. He was also a contractor. Mr. Barton was a member of the West Kiwanis Club and was a former member of its board of directors. He currently was also a director for the West Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the K.J.T. Society No. 31 in West and a former coach and team sponsor for the West Baseball-Softball League. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption. Survivors include his wife, Sandy Barton of Route 1, West; one son, Jason R. Barton of Route 1, West; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Raymond F. Barton, Sr.; two brothers, Randy Barton and Craig Barton, both of West; four sisters, Joanie Barton of Los Angeles, California, Judy Overton of Houston, Becky Barton of Austin, and Jackie Mynar of Route 2, West; his parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Freddie Machac of Hubbard; and several nieces and nephews. A rosary was recited at 8:00 p.m. Saturday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated 2:00 p.m. Sunday at St. Mary's Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Edward Karasek as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery. Active pallbearers were Edwin Sulak, James Maler, Daryl Newsome, Tommy Muska, Anthony Kubacak, Jr., and Morris Lee Degner. Honorary pallbearers were Phillip Webre, Tom Overton, Anthony Mynar, Thomas Webre, Anthony Kubacak, Sr., members of the West Kiwanis Club, Directors of the West Chamber of Commerce, Members of K.J.T. Society No. 31, and St. Mary's first and fifth grade classes. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
