Loretta A. Maixner, 89, passed away at her residence on Friday, November 30, 2007. She was born on July 1, 1918 in Odin, KS, the daughter of Alois and Carolina Frenzl Schremmer. She attended school in Odin, KS. After leaving school she worked on the farm with her parents. She moved to Hutchinson, KS in 1950. She was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. On October 19, 1938 she married Leonard H. Maixner. He passed away on September 22, 1982. She is survived by two daughters, Judy Hamilton and her husband Gary, El Paso, TX and Carol Waldron, Hutchinson, KS; a son, Michael Maixner and his wife Sandra, Norwich, Conn.; two brothers, John Schremmer, Hays, KS and Oswald Schremmer and his wife Hazel, Hoisington, KS; eleven grandchildren including Randy Tibbett, whom his grandparents raised; twenty-two great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, a daughter Lynetta Christianson, two brothers Albert and Oliver Schremmer and a sister, Sr. Miriam Schremmer. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Wednesday, December 5, 2007 at Fairlawn Burial Park with Rev. Michael Maixner officiating. There will be no visitation but the register book will be available to sign from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM Monday and Tuesday at Penwell-Gabel Funeral Home and Crematory. Memorials may be given to Home Healthcare Connection Hospice in care of the Funeral Home.
