Bio

A. W. (Shorty) Groppe, 79, of Tours died Friday at a Hillsboro nursing home. A rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Sunday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, the Rev. Isidore Rozycki as celebrant. Burial will be at St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mr. Groppe was born Dec. 15, 1908, in Tours, where he lived all his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Robert (Genevieve) Engeldinger of Tours; two sisters, Mrs. Ervin (Lydia) Hoeldtke of Elm Mott and Mrs. Kurt (Polly) Hoeldtke of Bellmead; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.
