Herald Coaster Rosenberg, Fort Bend Co., TX September 8, 1971 Funeral services for Joseph Jasper Eicher, 87, of Rosenberg, were held Friday, September 3, 1971, at 2:45 p.m. from Triska Funeral Home, followed by Holy Mass at 3 p.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. Father Pat O'Brien was celebrant, assisted by Father John Kukral of East Bernard and Monsignor James Madden of Houston. The Villa de Matel Choir of Houston, with Sister Maureen as Organist, as well as Sister M. Fidelis and Sisters from Galveston, sang at the funeral mass. Pallbearers were Mr. Eicher's grandsons, Danny Gregory, Mark McConnell, Woodie Williamson, Patrick and Marion Eicher, and son-in-law, Freddie Gregory. Altar boys were grandsons, Bruce McConnell, Chris Eicher, and Joseph Gregory. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Justina Eicher of Rosenberg; daughters, Mary Eicher of Galveston, Sister M. Rose Ann of Houston, Cecilia Williamson of Gonzales, Otillia Gregory and Mildred Gregory of Houston, and Georgia McConnell of Texas City; sons, Joe F. Eicher of Alice, Henry V. Eicher of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Frank C. Eicher of Rosenberg; 33 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two sisters also survive. Rosary services were held Thursday night at 8 p.m., led by Father O'Brien, and was attended by a large group of Sisters from Villa De Matel of Houston, as well as a large number of relatives and friends. Interment was in Garden of Gethsemane West.
