Elvin Dwayne Moody, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on November 12, 2009, at Central City Care Center in Central City, Nebraska. Elvin was 83 years of age having been born on July 14, 1926, in Ansley, Nebraska to Merle and Mary (Hyatt) Moody. Elvin grew up in the Arcadia, Nebraska area. He received his education at country schools and graduated from Arcadia, Nebraska High School in 1944. He entered the United States Army on February 16, 1945 and served during World War II in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged on April 6, 1946. He was united in marriage to Elinor Wibbels on February 27, 1947, at the Liberty Christian Church in Ansley, Nebraska. The couple recently celebrated their 63rd Wedding Anniversary. They lived and farmed for several years in the Clear Creek area near Ansley, Nebraska. Through their married life they lived in Lincoln, Nebraska where he was a salesman for several years, then they moved back to Arcadia, Nebraska in 1965, where he farmed with his father-in-law, Elmer Wibbels. He also did custom farming and raised registered hogs. He later moved to Ainsworth, Nebraska where he was a mechanic. They returned to Arcadia, Nebraska in 1984, where he ran his own mechanic shop and helped his life long friend, Don Landon, with farming, until his stroke in 1993, when he became disabled. He and his wife moved to Central City in February of 2004. Elvin became ill and it was necessary to place him in Central City Care Center of Central City, Nebraska in December, 2007. He enjoyed reading, refinishing furniture in his last years, and he loved his children and grandchildren. Elvin had a very strong faith in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. His foremost desire, for all of his family, was that they accept Christ as their personal savior to KNOW where they were going when they passed this life. He was especially interested in Nebraska Christian Schools where he prayed for them and supported their ministry for many years. Survivors are his wife, Elinor Moody of Central City; daughters and sons-in-law, Diana and Lonny Maxson of O'Neill, Nebraska; Kathy and Paul Dietz of Central City, Nebraska and Karla Timmerman and friend, Gary Quinn of Burwell, Nebraska; sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Connie Moody of Seneca, Nebraska and Tim and Jo Moody of Central City, Nebraska; sisters and brothers-in-law, Phyllis and Frank Adamek of Akron, Ohio, and Janice and Gene Nutter of Baltimore, Maryland; brother, Jerry Moody of Elm Creek, Nebraska; and a sister-in-law, Maxine Moody of Arcadia, Nebraska and a host of relatives and friends. Elvin was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents, Merle and Mary (Hyatt) Moody; son, Marvin Lee Moody and brother, Robert Moody.
