Memorial and stone picture in New Helena Cemetery -- Daughter of Claus and Mary Moody Sierks Mrs. Spanel was reared in the Dunning and Anselmo communities. She was united in marriage to Edgar Spanel at Broken Bow February 9, 1921. They farmed in the New Helena and Columbia Table communities until they retired in 1971 and moved to Broken Bow. They moved to Burwell when Mr. Spanel was hospitalized. Following his death in 1972 Mrs. Spanel remained in Burwell and made her home in Parkview Plaza. She was a charter member of the New Helena Country Club and was active in community affairs. Edgar and Linda had two children: Katherine and Daniel. Blaine County Beacon Brewster, Nebraska December 12, 1973
