Son of Edgar & Linda (Sierks) Spanel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn, in April 2005. Survivors of the immediate family include two daughters and a son-in-law, Debbie and Jack Chandler and Kathy Kucera, all of Lincoln.
