Harold M. Goldfish, of Ord, Nebraska formerly of Scotia, Nebraska departed this life and entered The Eternal Home on, November 8, 2009, at Valley View Living Center at Ord, Nebraska. Harold was 88 years of age having been born on July 25, 1921, on a farm near Hampton, Nebraska to Charles and Margaret (Tschudy) Goldfish. In 1927, his family moved to the Greeley-Scotia, Nebraska area where they farmed several different homesteads. Harold received his education at Boston Valley, Fish Creek and Scotia High School. He was confirmed in the Lutheran Faith as a boy and later joined the Salem Evangelical Church in Fish Creek. In 1940, Harold joined the Civilian Conservation Corp and served for two years. He purchased a farm east of Scotia in 1944. On March 16, 1945, Harold was united in marriage to Erma Meyer. To this union, three children were born, Roger, Gordon and Kay. In 1983, Harold and Erma moved to Scotia, Nebraska Harold continued to farm until 1988, when he retired. In 1992, Harold joined the Ord Christian Church. He was an active member of the Gideons for over 50 years. He loved to work the land, hunt and fish. After retirement, Harold enjoyed gardening and woodworking. He especially enjoyed being with his family and friends. Survivors are his wife, Erma Goldfish of Ord, Nebraska; son and daughter-in-law, Roger and Rita Goldfish of Ord, Nebraska; daughter and son-in-law, Kay and Stephen Ryle of Atlanta, Georgia; daughter-in-law, Barbara Goldfish of Kearney, Nebraska; sister and brother-in-law, Maxine and Norb Zulkoski of St. Paul, Nebraska; brother and sister-in-law, William and Shirley Goldfish of Scotia, Nebraska; and sister-in-law, Carol Goldfish of Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Harold was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by his parents Charles and Margaret Goldfish; son, Gordon; brother, Stanley and an infant brother.
