Mrs. Margaret Stevens died at 9 o'clock Sunday morning at the home of her son, F.M. Cunningham southwest of Decatur, aged 78 years,8 months and 17 days. Deceased was the wife of Joseph Stevens who died about twelve years ago. She leaves three children: F.M.Cunningham, Mrs. Sarah Jane Cox and Mrs. Rachel M. Austin. Mrs. Stevens had lived in this county for about sixty years and for over fifty years had been a member of the Christian church of this city. The funeral was held from the Salem church yesterday afternoon conducted by Rev. H. Harrell of Bethany. The funeral was largely attended. Around the casket were beautiful floral offerings, among them being a ripe sheaf of wheat. Music was furnished by the choir of the Salem church. Review Nov 29, 1892 p1 Margaret was born in Kentucky. Her first husband, Levi Cunningham died in 1830 and her second husband, Joseph Stevens died about 12 years ago. Herald Nov. 29, 1892 Margaret was the 2nd wife of Joseph Stevens.His 1st wife was Mary Warnick. Records also show that they had a son, Cyrus Stevens born about 1834 in Macon county, Il.
