Bio
Marilyn Dee Klein, of Funk, Nebraska, departed this life and entered The Eternal Home following a lengthy illness on, November 6, 2009 at her home in Funk with her devoted and caring husband, Tom by her side. Marilyn was 66 years of age having been born on March 9, 1943 at Lexington, Nebraska the eldest of four children of Alfred Ross and Thelma Geraldine (Grant) Vollmer. Marilyn received her primary education at Dawson County District #21, north of Overton, Nebraska until the eighth grade. She then graduated from Overton, Nebraska High School with the class of 1962. Marilyn then pursued higher education at the Kearney Vocational School of Nursing, where she graduated and received her LPN credentials in 1965. On November 28, 1965, she was united in marriage to Tommy Klein in Lexington and to this union two daughters: Debi and Mindy were born. Marilyn worked as a nurse at Bethphage/Mosaic in Axtell until the time of her passing. She will always be remembered as a very generous and giving person. Her interests included spending time with her grandchildren and creating scrapbooks of her grandchildren from birth to their present age. Marilyn also enjoyed cross-stitching, and various quilting projects and donations. She attended the Trinity Evangelical Free Church in Holdrege, Nebraska. Survivors are her husband, Tom Klein of Funk, Nebraska; daughters: Debi Jacobson and her husband, Bart of Funk, Nebraska and Mindy Crum and her husband, Monte of Walden, Colorado; sisters: Donna Jean Boggs and her husband, Frank and Marsha Joye Samuelson and her husband, Lyle all of Bertrand, Nebraska; brother, Gary Dean Vollmer and his wife, Dawn of Oxford, Nebraska; mother-in-law, Viva Klein of Lexington, Nebraska; brothers-in-law: Larry Klein and his wife, Marge of Fort Lupton, Colorado, David Klein of Waco, Nebraska and Terry Klein and his wife, Sandra of Beaver City, Nebraska; and host of relatives and friends. Marilyn was welcomed into The Heavenly Home by her parents, Alfred and Thelma Vollmer; father-in-law, Lawrence Klein; and nephew, Brian Klein.
