The Guide Rock Signal - April 18, 1912 George Henry Loper was born 6 miles south of Guide Rock, April 7, 1885, died at his home in Jewell co., KS 9 miles southeast of Guide Rock, at 1:50 am Friday April 12 of erysipelas. The funeral was held from the home at 10 o'clock, Sat and interment was in the Guide Rock cemetery. Rev Barch, of the M E Church, preached the funeral sermon. Deceased was the eldest son of Jake and Mary Loper. He leaves to mourn his departure a wife and one child, a little boy about 2 mo. old. Besides these he leaves father, mother, 3 brothers and 3 sisters, as follows: Floyd, Ray, Ralph and Frankie. Mrs Edith Glassglo of Mt Clare, Mrs Maggie Blackburn of Barado and Mrs Sue Petermichel of Valparaiso all of who were present at the funeral. Deceased was married Sept 28, 1908 at Red Cloud, to Miss Tillie Weigle, of this place. They have made their home ever since in this vicinity. Henry was considered by everyone to be an exemplary young man, honest and square in all his dealings and is mourned by a large circle of friends the entire community joins in extending sympathy to the bereaved..
