Bio
Funeral services for Cherolyne Louise Northam Pruitt, 66, of Lubbock, will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 30, 2009 at the Sunset Church of Christ with Don Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Resthaven Memorial Park. The family will have visitation at Resthaven Funeral Home on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. Please join us in celebrating Cherolyne's life by visiting her memorial at www.mem.com. Cherolyne died peacefully on Sunday, Oct. 25, 2009. She was born on May 10, 1943, in Levelland, Texas, as the fourth child of Maurice and Velma Northam. Cherolyne graduated Lubbock High School in 1962. She worked for many years as a secretary and telephone operator for the Children's Home of Lubbock, Lubbock Christian University, Stenocall, and 21 years for AT&T. She retired from AT&T in 2002. She is survived by a son, Brad Pruitt and wife Kay and their two children, Eli and Elizabeth of Lubbock; and a son, Britton Pruitt and wife Sharon and their two children, Nathaniel and Brianne of Albuquerque. She is also survived by two brothers, M.C. Northam of Temple and Dr. Ben Northam of Plano; a sister, Marjorie King of Lubbock; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, good friends and a loving church family. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bill Pruitt; and a son, Donald Clay Pruitt, who died on Nov. 4, 1968, six days after birth. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be made to the Sunset International Bible Institute in Lubbock.
