Find A Grave contributor Charles Harball has made a suggestion: ------------------------- Lettie Vroman was of the Vrooman line that came out of the Netherlands to New York with Hendrick Meese Vrooman (1618-1690) and his family in 1670. They settled in the Schenectady area and remained there for several generations participating in and enduring the tragedies of the French and Indian Wars. Lettie's grandfather, Adam Jacob Vroman (1792-1871), moved west from Schenectady to Ohio, where her father, William George Vroman (1822-1891) was born. Lettie was the fourth of 14 children fathered by William. Lettie married Walter Harrison Holt Merrifield in Colorado in 1872 and they had twelve children together over the next 22 years. Harrison, a disabled Civil War Veteran, and Lettie were later separated and divorced. -------------------------
