Bio

Clarissa was born Clarissa Leila Billingsley on June 17, 1861 in Hill, Texas to John Rankin and Sarah Eleanor Billingsley. She married Joseph Tillman King on November 25, 1879 in Morgan Mill, Texas and had 10 children Elsie Gertrude (1882-1957), John Elmer (1884-1960), Everette Jackson (1888-1963), Eleanor Rayford (1888-1960), Eppie Lee (1890-1963), Jessie Pearson (1892-1977), Joseph Tillman Jr. (1895-1963), Henry Wylie (1897-1978) and an infant child who died at birth. She was married to Joseph for 53 years until his passing in 1933 she followed 2 years later on October 11, 1935 of Natural Causes at the age of 74. She was survived by her Children Mrs. Elsie Still of Childress, TX, John King of Dallas, TX, Mrs. H. M. Jeter, Everette KIng both of Childress, TX Mrs. G. A. Robinson of Carey, TX, Mrs. R. E. Jones of Childress, TX, J. T. King Jr. of Childress, TX and Henry King of Childress, 24 Grandchildren, 3 Great-Grandchildren, Sister Mrs. N. A. Laughlin, Truth or Consequences, NM, Brothers Robert King and Ebb King both of Childress, TX and many nieces and nephews.
