Son of Pinkney Lafayette Groome and Cora Murphy Broadfield City of Greensboro Green Hill Cemetery Record index lists him as John Z. Groome, buried in 1895 Name was probably John Zachariah Groome The Wednesday, July 17, 1895 edition of The Greensboro [NC] Patriot included: The little daughter of Rev. and Mrs. P. L. Groome, aged about four months, died Saturday evening and was buried Monday morning in Green Hill Cemetery. It had been seriously ill for a week or more. Note: The newspaper article evidently is in error as to the gender of the infant, since the date and age in the article are within the range of the gravestone information and there is no other infant gravestone in the Groome plot.
