Searcy Funeral Held At Morse Funeral services for Elwood Searcy of Morse were held at the Morse high school building Monday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with Rev. Herbert Hughes, pastor of the Gruver Baptist church, officiating. Interment was in Lieb cemetery. Searcy, born in McKenney, Collin county, Jan. 2, 1879, died at his home Saturday morning. Searcy was a member of the Presbyterian church of Miami. He had resided in the Panhandle the last 24 years, living in Amarillo Miami, McClain [sic] and Morse, the latter community in which he resided for 10 years. He is a former Woodman and Odd Fellow. Survivors include the widow and four children, Mrs. A.M. Coffee of Stinnett, C.C. Searcy of Amarillo, Mrs. Henry Davis of Morse, L.H. Searcy of Morse; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.H. Searcy, four sisters, Miss Lula Searcy, Miss Beulah Searcy, all of McKenney; Mrs. Carl Taylor of Hillsboro; a brother, Leonard Searcy of McKenney. Also nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren susvive. Pallbearers were H.S. Durham, H.I. Gay, O.E. Vaughn, Mac Dortch, Boss Davis and Jake Miller. Honorary pall bearers were M.W. McCloy and J.O. Hatcher. Flower girls were Misses Maxine Durham, Virginia Hatcher, Merle Johnson and Lavena Mortimer.
