John was the son of O.C.McNeil and wife, Cassandria Louisa Conner. He married 1) Mary Julia Robinson on 7 Nov 1883. Recorded in Book B, Page 98 in the Marriage Records of Angelina County, Texas 2)Mary Alice Wade on 19 Jun 1901. Recorded in Book D, Page 147 in the Marriage Records of Angelina County, Texas. He has a memorial marker here in McNiel Cemetery in Angelina County, Texas, but is buried in the Edgewood Cemetery in Crystal City in Zavala County, Texas ~ Cenotaph here
