William Moses "Bill" Bateman was born **August 1856 in Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas. He died 10 September 1952 in Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. William M. "Bill" Bateman married Mary T Robertson 15 Feb 1882 in Hempstead County, Arkansas, USA. Together they had a daughter, Ola Lee Bateman (1883 ~ 1970)-Ola married Marvin Duncan "Mann" Hart. Mary died when Ola was about 3 years old. After the death of his 1st wife, he married Mattie Jones & together they had 2 children: John W. Bateman (1891~____) & Goldie Lor Bateman (1895~1944)-Goldie married Arthur Odell Davis. According to his Granddaughter, Ruby Ola Hart Gwin, he was a "Hotel Man". However, Census Records show "Farmer". **NOTE: There is a descrepancy in Year of Birth. Headstone shows 1857; Other records show 1856 - 1900 Census shows August 1856.
