Mr. Paul F. Rickert, 59, died Sunday, Feb. 8, 2004, at the Good Shepard Medical Center in Longview. He was born May 19, 1944 in Ennis, the son of Raymond F. and Vida Hickman Rickert. He was reared in Ennis and was a 1962 graduate of Ennis High School. He then attended Navarro College. On March 28, 1963 he was married to Patsy Honza of Ennis. After their marriage they live din Ennis where he worked in the family store, Rickert's Grocery. In 1974 he was employed by the Southern Pacific Railroad as a brakeman. He worked out of Ennis, Tyler and Longview. At the time of his death he was a conductor for Union Pacific Railroad. In 1998 they moved to Cedar Creek Lake. He loved to fish and work in his yard. He was a member of St Johns Catholic Church, the Knights of Columbus, where he served as Past Deputy Grand Knight and the United Train Union. He is survived by his wife, Patsy, of Cedar Creek Lake; 2 daughters and their husband, Stephanie and Floyd Mummert, Patricia and Sammy Cervantes all of Ennis; a sister, Janice Calhoun of Ennis; a brother-in-law and his wife, Calvin and Sandra Honza, Sr. of Grand Prairie; 3 grandchildren, Christopher Mummert, Clayton Mummert and Marcelina Cervantes; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Mary Frances Rickert, in 1983. Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Tuesday in the Keever Chapel. Mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12 Noon Wednesday in St John Catholic Church with Rev. Fred Caldwell as celebrant. Interment will be in St. Josephs Cemetery under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St Johns Catholic Church for the new archway in St Josephs Cemetery.
