Florence died July 3 at her home in Torrington. Memorials can be made to the Land of Goshen Ministries or Prairie Haven Hospice. Arrangements are under the direction of Colyer Funeral Home and friends are invited to send condolences to the family at www.colyerfuneralhome.com. She was born Florence Rose McGraw, the daughter of Clifford and Daisy (Forshey) McGraw, in Torrington on Sept. 26, 1930. Her parents homesteaded in Huntley, where she was raised and educated. She met and married Lester Snow in Huntley on June 6, 1948. To this union four children were born. Lester and Florence had 57 wonderful years together before his death in 2005. Florence did many things throughout her life. She worked at Taylor Law Firm, Cassel Bakery and Chicken Hut, all in Torrington. However, most people know her for her work at Land of Goshen Ministries, which her family organized in 1991. Her care and concern for helping others was no secret, and you could always find her baking cakes, cinnamon rolls and goodies for people in need, as well as her family. Florence loved carpentry work, crafts, sewing, music and people. She helped out with Santa's Helpers, Land of Goshen Ministries, Lighthouse Ministries and others that needed her attention. She is survived by two brothers, Charles McGraw of Torrington and Robert (Betty) McGraw of Port Orchard, Wash.; two sisters, Judy (Ed) Harris of Port Orchard and June (Harry) Robertson of Sand Point, Idaho; two daughters, Connie (William) White and Lynette Tyrone, both of Torrington; two sons, Roger (Evelyn) Snow and James (Kim) Snow, both of Torrington; 19 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four sisters and one brother.
