Bio

Mrs. Katheryn L. Stevens, 85, died Sunday, Feb. 27, 2005, at the IOOF Nursing Home in Ennis. She was born Feb. 9, 1920 in Ellis County, the daughter of Burl and Myrtle Combs Brumley. She was reared in Telico where she attended school. On March 5, 1938 she was married to Alfred E. Stevens of Ennis. After their marriage they lived in Ennis where she worked with her husband on the family farm. She was also employed for Storey Mfg. for 13 years. Mr. Stevens preceded her in death on Aug. 9, 2003. She was a member of the Boyce Baptist Church. She is survived by a son and his wife, Ronnie and Mary Stevens of Streetman; a daughter and her husband, Nona and Arlis Brock of Ennis; 4 grand-children; 10 great grand-children; and 4 great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Kevin Brock in 1976, and a sister, Louise Baker in 2004. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday in Myrtle Cemetery with Rev. Cord Blankenship officiating under the direction of J.E. Keever Mortuary. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Tuesday.
