Bio
He was born February 22, 1909 on a farm north of Richland, Nebraska. He passed away August 3, 1970 on his farm near Ames, Nebraska. Lester was a farmer most of his life growing crops and raising cattle and horses and sheep. He loved to hunt coyotes and earned bounties for them. He would take his dogs Curly and Rusty hunting and for long rides in his Chevy pickup. He helped neighbors when they needed some help on the farm. In 1959, he was getting an average of 148 bushels of corn per acre! Lester married the beautiful Wilhelmina Kirchmann on March 2, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska. They lived on a farm east of North Bend, Nebraska where they raised 3 children: Douglas, Darlene, and Donald. He is survived by his wife, children, 2 brothers, Theodore (Ted) and Cloyd..3 sisters, Mrs. Fred (Gertrude) Neuman, Mrs. Fred (Hazel) Bauman and Mrs. Vergil (Mabel) Gana) and 7 grandchildren, Lori, Steve, Mike, Linda, Lisa, Jeff, and Dan at the time of his death.
