Blanche A. Waters, of Grand Island, Nebraska, passed away, October 3, 2009, in Lincoln, Nebraska after a long illness. She was born April 6, 1922, in Loup City, Nebraska to John J. and Anna (Tutaj) Golus. Blanche graduated from Loup City High School in 1939 and taught rural school near Loup City for three years, before moving to Modesto, Calif., to join her sisters in 1943. She was united in marriage to Richard "Dick" Waters on Dec. 20, 1945, in Modesto, Calif. The couple resided in Middleburg, N.Y., before setting in Grand Island in 1948. She was a homemaker, a member of St. Mary's Parish and St. Mary's Altar Society. She had many interests and enjoyed genealogy research, crafts, cooking, her garden flowers and especially her family and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; infant son, Robert John Waters, brothers, Joseph L. Golus, Ernest J. Golus and an infant brother, Arthur Golus; sisters, Anne Moore and Sally Rymer Survivors of the immediate family include her husband of 63 years, Richard "Dick" Waters of Grand Island, Nebraska; son and daughter-in-law, Rich and Kathy Waters of Lincoln, Nebraska; daughters and sons-in-law, Sherry and Allan Spiehs, Joanne and Michael Spaulding and Beverly Waters, all of Lincoln, Nebraska.
