I believe that Joe Pate is buried in a grave that I found in Black Jack Cemetery, but no proof can be found! I have tried to find a record that shows who he is!

His family moved from Mississippi to Nacogdoches County, Texas in the late 1800's. After a while they moved to Shelby County, Texas, near Arcadia, Texas. John met and married Dicey Modenia Peace, September 28, 1893 in Shelby County, Texas. John was a farmer and a pioneer preacher in Shelby County, Texas.
