Quad City Herald - Dec 9, 1976 George A. Huckins, 65, died Dec. 3 as a result of an auto accident near Brewster. He was born Dec. 5, 1911, in Pateros and attended school there before entering the service during World War II. He served in France, central Europe, Rose, Naples and the Rhineland. For the past 16 years he had been employed at the Bud Joy ranch at Brewster. Mr. Huckins was a member of the Brewster American Legion Post No. 97. Surviving are one son, George Huckins, Jr., Omak, one brother, John Holt, Okanogan; three sisters, Mrs. George Theriault, Ephrata, Mrs. Lee Cross and Mrs. Earl Jones, in California; four grandchildren and several step-grandchildren.
