His death record and Gravemarker have the name he went by "Lonie" incorrectly spelled as "Tonie". According to his niece, Margaret (Robb) Swinsinski now deceased, Alonzo received a bonus from WWI and opened a grocery store in East Liverpool with his step-father Irvin Howell.
