Bio

Elma Dickinson, 94, of Sterling, died Saturday, Aug. 15, 1998, in Sterling after a long illness with Alzheimer's disease. Visitation and viewing will be from 10 am. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 18, at Tennant Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 10:30 am., Wednesday, Aug. 19, at Christ United Methodist Church, with the Rev. T. L. Phillips officiating. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery. Mrs. Dickinson was born on April 23, 1904 m Fullerton, Neb. to Charles and Anna (Murray) Smith. She was a resident of Logan County for more than 80 years. She was a teacher at Minto Valley, a rural school near Sterling. She married Donald Dickinson and lived on a farm northeast of Sterling. Together they were active in many local organizations and were strong supporters of health and educational institutions. They were members of Christ United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dickinson was interested in gardening and activities with her children and grandchildren. Mis. Dickinson is survived by her daughter, Shirley McCune, a son, Charles Gordon (Jean) Dickinson, daughter-in-law, Thelma Dickinson. and four grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald, and her eldest son, Donald Zenas Dickinson. Memorial contributions may bt made to Christ United Methodist Church in lieu of flowers.
