Son of Zachariah Lee Groome and Minnie Gertrude Armfield Husband of Helen Cox Greensboro News & Record (NC) - Sunday, February 19, 2006 GREENSBORO- Mr. Aubrey (AB) Groome of Groometown Road passed away February 17, 2006. Graveside funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today, February 19, 2006 at Groometown United Methodist Church where he was a lifelong member. The Rev. Charles Morton will officiate. There will be a short visitation for the immediate family following the graveside service in the church hut. He was born on January 18, 1913 to the late Z. Lee and Minnie Armfield Groome. Mr. Groome was a lifelong charter member of the Pinecroft-Sedgefield Fire Department since 1952. Mr. Groome is preceded in death by his loving wife Helen of 63 years. His immediate survivors are his sisters Mary Ruth Groome of Salisbury and Jane Groome Lowe of Tennessee. He is also survived by his special friend Jackie Cox, and by a close family friend Kendall McCarter and his entire family.
