After an illness of about a month, Mrs. Nora Bigham Webb died at her home near Braggadocio, Oct. 23. The deceased was a member of one of the oldest and most highly respected families of Pemiscot county. She was born at Caruthersville, Oct. 7, 1901, and was a daughter of the late Judge John M. Bigham. She united with the Baptist church at Braggadocio July 24, 1921, and became an active useful Christian, being a teacher of the intermediate class No. 3, in the Sunday school at the time of her death. And of all the beautiful floral offerings, perhaps that from her Sunday school was the most beautiful. She also took an active part in all community work, especially that connected with the school. At the time of her death she was president of the Speer school P.T.A. and also chairman of the county council of that organization. The funeral held in the First Baptist church at Caruthersville Tuesday afternoon was largely attended. In the absence of Bro. Foster, Rev. DeBolt conducted the services. Interment took place in Little Prairie cemetery. She is survived by a devoted husband, Carl M. Webb, to whom she was married Dec. 11, 1916, and three children, Hina Bigham, Carl Mike, and Anita Jean. Other relatives left to mourn her untimely death are an aged mother, Mrs. Maud Bigham, who made her home with the deceased; three brothers Edgar and Carl Bigham, of Braggadocio, Roy Myler of St. Louis; and one sister, Mrs. Luther Swinney of Braggadocio. Her death is a distinct loss to the entire community and is keenly felt, not only by the relatives, but also by a host of friends throughout the county, who extend heartfelt sympathy to the sorrowing family, and offer this consolation: She has paid the last debt of life, and is at rest, where neither sickness, nor sorrow, nor death can ever come again, for there life is eternal! But from the Beyond her influence will come back like the rays of some distant star to guide the way to the better world.
