William J. Balusek, known to many as "Bill", passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2008 at the age of 73. Born on April 24, 1934 in Taylor, Texas, Bill was the son of Joe Emil and Annie (Palla) Balusek. He served his country in the U.S. Army in the 1950's, and returned to the Austin area after his tour of duty. He retired from Serta after many years of service as an industrial machine technician. Bill is survived by his wife of 51 years, Ruth King Balusek; 3 sons, David Balusek and wife Ruby, Billy Balusek and Sandy, Joe Balusek and Sandy; 1 daughter, Debra Giesen Breit; 19 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by 2 brothers, Joe Balusek and wife Edith and Johnny Balusek; 3 sisters, Rosie Simcik, Ruby Siedel and husband Ellis, and Bernice Leonard. He was preceded in death by his parents, 6 brothers and 1 sister. Friends may pay their respects between 3:00 and 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, February 5, 2008 at the Cook- Walden/Capital Parks Funeral Home in Pflugerville. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday, February 6, 2008 at the Memorial Chapel of the Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow at Cook-Walden/Memorial Hill Cemetery.
