Bio
Rosie Lee Simcik, age 86, of Taylor, Texas, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6, 2015, in Round Rock, Texas. Rosie was born on July 16, 1929, in Taylor, Texas to Joe and Anne (Palla) Balusek. She married the love of her life, Jerry Simcik, in Taylor, Texas, and the two shared a love story together for many years until Jerry's passing in 1998. Rosie had most recently worked for Weed Instruments, where she assisted the construction of nuclear sensors and process instrumentation. Rosie will be greatly missed. To cherish her memory, Rosie leaves behind her daughter, Jo Gerke of Round Rock, Texas; granddaughter, Victoria Gerke of Round Rock, Texas; grandsons, Nicholas Gerke and Travis Taylor and his wife, Julie; great-grandsons, Aiden Martinez and Mack Taylor; as well as great-granddaughters, Abigail Taylor and Molly Taylor. A private burial will be held at the Taylor City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorials or donations be made to Ramsey Funeral Home in Rosie's name.
