Bio

"The LaFayette Sun" - June 27, 1917: Death of Mrs. G. W. Clemons. Mrs. G. W. Clemons, of near Dudleyville, died on the train between Jacksonville, Fla., and Waycross, Ga., last Sunday night. She had been visiting her daughter, Mrs. Oscar Patillo at Orlando, Fla., and was enroute to LaFayette to visit her daughter, Mrs. John Hunter. The remains were carried to Fredonia Tuesday morning and interred in the cemetery at that place at 10:00 o'clock. Revs. J. M. McCleskey and H. R. Arnold, of this place, conducting the services. Mrs. Clemons was in her 78th year, and had lived a long and useful life, loved and respected by all who knew her. She is survived by one son, Mr. Wiley Clemons, of Five Points; four daughters, Mrs. John Hunter, of LaFayette, Mrs. Pattillo, of Orlando, Fla., Mrs. Gena Tomlinson, of Roanoke, and Miss Viola Clemons.
